Recreational Fire Permit

All recreational burning must be approved by the Bronson Police Department.  A recreational fire permit application can be obtained through the Police Department, at the City Office, or downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page.  After submitting the application, an officer will inspect your fire pit / container and make sure the distance conditions are met.  There is a $15 charge once inspected and an annual $5 renewal fee each year after.  Ordinance #194 established the rules and regulations for recreation fires in the City and should be reviewed prior to submitting an application (download available below).

The City Council enacted these regulations for recreational fire permits in 2012 to protect the health, welfare, and property of the residents of Bronson. The inspections ensure that the pits are a safe distance from structures, property lines, or combustible materials. The inspections also ensure an approved container is being used to contain the fire as well as protecting neighbors from nuisance smoke.
