The City of Bronson seeks a full-time laborer for the Department of Public Works.  Position maintains City roads, parks, cemetery, sewer and water infrastructure, plows snow, leaf collection, lawn mowing and other general maintenance tasks.  Applicant must be able to perform several physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, climbing, outdoor work in all weather conditions and working on or near road ways.  Must possess a valid State of Michigan CDL-B license or be able to obtain one within 6 months.  Pay range is $16.50-$19 per hour depending on qualifications.  Employment application is available at the link below or at City Hall (141 S. Description / Requirements:

Bronson City Police Department is accepting applications for a Full time police officer position.  Officer patrols the City in order to enforce local ordinances, and applicable state and federal laws.  Duties to include but not limited to, investigate criminal activities, police accident scenes, respond to domestic and other disputes, and answer requests for a variety of services. Performs a variety of functions related to protecting lives and property within the City.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be a US Citizen
  • No arrest record
  • Good moral character
  • Possess a valid operator's license
  • Non-Smoker
  • Free from physical, chronic or organic diseases which may impair the performance of the essential job functions of a law enforcement officer or which may endanger the lives of others or the law enforcement officer.
  • Possess normal hearing as defined by MCOLES Standards.
  • Possess 20/20 corrected vision in each eye, includes peripheral vision, depth perception and night vision.
  • Possess normal color vision as defined by MCOLES Standards.
  • Must be MCOLES licensed or licensable at the time the application is filed, must provide copy of licensure or letter from MCOLES with application
  • Must be free from mental/emotional disorders which may impair the performance of the essential job functions of a law enforcement officer or which may endanger the lives of others or the law enforcement officer.
  • Must have computer and typing skills

Full Time Officers Wage:

Start: Hourly wage dependent upon experience.  Wages range from 16.33 to 19.31 per hour to start.

Part-Time Police Officers (Multiple Positions

Part-time Police Officers (Multiple positions):

The City of Bronson Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Part-time Police Officer. The City of Bronson is located in west central Branch County sitting on U.S.12, serving a population of approximately 2,400 residents. The agency maintains 24 hour coverage. Interested applicants must completed complete both the general application and the supplemental application (documents are available below) for police officers and include a cover letter and resume. We are seeking MCOLES certified or certifiable candidates only. Applicant must pass background investigation, physical and psychological exams and drug screening.
