Bronson Precision Products Announces Closure

February 17, 2016 – Bronson, MI – Bronson officials received a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act yesterday in regards to the closure of Bronson Precision Products. According to the notification, the company expects that it will permanently close the entire facility during the fourteen (14) day period between March 18, 2016 and March 31, 2016.

“For over 30 years Bronson Precision Products has been a tremendous asset and great employer for our community,” said Brandon Mersman, Bronson City Manager.

The company had been in the process of seeking capital which, if obtained, would have enabled it to avoid or postpone a closure and continue operations. Unfortunately, those efforts were unsuccessful and, as a result, the company will now be forced to permanently close the facility.

“We plan on meeting with the company as soon as possible in order to see how we can assist them with their recession plan,” said Mersman. “Our thoughts are with the many families, friends, and neighbors that built their careers around this company, we will continue to look forward and overcome this devastating loss as we have in the past.”

Bronson officials have contacted the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance for help with re-allocating the workforce.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear about the closing of Bronson Precision Products,” said Lisa Miller, Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director. “With 125 employees, they were the top employer in Bronson, as well as top 10 for manufacturing in Branch County. We will do whatever we can to help locate new job opportunities for those that will be affected by this closure.”
